Ms. Joyce Williams took the stage in Washington, D.C, to deliver the closing remarks to wrap up the visit of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to the Africa Union Mission.
The Asantehene is currently in the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly to receive a Peace Award for his role in restoring total peace in the Dagbon kingdom of Northern Ghana after 17 years of protracted chieftaincy dispute. His Majesty will also deliver the keynote address on the High-Level event of Culture for Peace at the Trusteeship Council Chambers on September 13, 2019.
Addressing the Diaspora gathered at the African Union mission, His Majesty called on all children of Africa to look back and find ways to lend their expertise to the socio-economic development of Africa.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Williams encouraged all Africans in the Diaspora to support the African Union Diaspora initiative to mobilize resources in the form of human and financial capital to contribute to the socio-economic development of Africa.
